Troubleshooting:access 2000 database transfered to access 2007 trouble merging with word doc

access 2000 database transfered to access 2007 trouble merging with word doc

I have just got access 2007 and have transfered my access 2000 database over.
When I want to mail merge a query from my database with an original word doc I used in 2000, the query allows me to get the info I want but when I run through the mail merge wizard
it selects the whole database and not the selected and opened query.
The query has parameters that allow me to make date selections, in the 2000 version it worked fine
can any one help?
I am quite new to access and have inherited the databse.
It is basically to allow me to send reminders to customers each month for items due! Sorry if I do no know all technical terms.
Thank you
