How to Resolve - Adding new computer with Windows 7 to my current network of Windows XP computers?

Adding new computer with Windows 7 to my current network of Windows XP computers

I'm thinking of buying a new desktop with Windows 7 to my current home network of computers that have Windows XP.

1) What problems/conflicts would I expect if I leave the current setup of Windows XP OR would it be easier to upgrade the current Windows XP computers  to Windows 7?

2)If the latter is the case, do I need to create a new workgroup for Windows 7?
3) Is there any modification to the network itself, physically and/or reconfiguration for Windows 7?
Thanks for your help!
