After installing 'ezcap digital ATSC TV stick' using key gen, get blue screen error "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
Hi I've been trying to fix this problem for nearly 12 hours now.
I installed a 'ezcap digital ATSC TV stick' the hardware itself installed correctly via auto run when you plug it in via USB, then I needed a program which came with the stick, proceeded to
install that through the CD that came with the package, then the program asked me for a key, looked around on the packaging for a key and there wasn't one at all, googled it and it's suppose to be on the CD sleeve (and it wasn't) then I clicked on a key gen
link to download a key gen (yes yes I know, this is the first time I've done this since i was in my young teens and i thought it'll be OK just once as I am quite suspicious of **** sites etc), ran the zip, clicked on an .exe file and boom, computer shat itself.
Incident: unzipped a file, ran an .exe from said zip file -- computer hung, then BSOD error (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) Restarted, slow to load windows, then when I finally get to type in my password to login, BSOD again Safe Mode: same thing, slow to
load, type password in, BSOD within seconds Did a system restore via F8-Repair tools, (I was presuming that it was the zip file I ran seeing as before this i've never had a problem with BSOD ever in all my years using Windows) Didn't work, when I go to login
BSOD after password is entered Ran System Repar via restart--F8, didnt work Ran Load from last successful boot something something option via F8-- repair, didn't work didn't work, tried using Memory Diagnostic, took about 10 hours to run the test, before it
could finish computer rebooted itself after getting BSOD error again Now the worst part: I stupidly, (as I don't really know what I am doing and I got impatient as I have a mountain of uni work to finish due tomorrow), ran the Restore To Factory option through
the repair menu when you hit F8.
Now when I restart the computer and it goes to finish installing Windows 7, I get an error "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.
Windows installation cannot proceed.
To install windows, click
"OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation." Starting to freak out because without finishing the installation I can't run any diagnostic tools via F8--Repair, and I can't run Safe Mode because when you do that it says "Cannot finish installing
Windows in Safe Mode" then reboots itself again so I am going around in circles.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am guessing it is a driver issue then ? Not a HDD? The HDD was running perfect before I unzipped the file I downloaded and ran the exe.
I hope I've been thorough enough with the information - I can't access dump files

The hdd is probably on the bottom.
Just unscrew a few screws.
If its SATA (it probably is), the desktop will have to have SATA ports.
Just chuck it in scan it for errors (it sounds like its a fault).
Since as you've said, you did a factory restore (which shouldnt crash).
If you decide to remove the hdd, (there must be a restore partition on it) if its got a factory restore option.
Show the OS system files (in whatever version of windows, you connect it to).
Go to the hidden partition.
See if there are ISO's in it.
If there is, burn them
Then refomat the hdd (while its connected to a desktop).
To make sure it formats properly
Does this have a cd/dvd on it?? If it does the DVD/'s you created from the ISO's (hopefully they exist).
Boot from them
Is it a known brand (like Dell, HP, ASUS, Acer)?? If it is they may have an office in Oz
