Accessing My Microsoft Office Home 7 Student Program 2007

I purchased & installed this program on the 1st February 2011 & up until now everything has been working at it should work.
Now when I try to access any of my Word Documents I get the following;

* When I click on an item I want to view another window opens up to say 'preparing to install'

* Eventually after a long period another window opens to say 'this file cannot be opened'

At this moment I cannot gain access to any of my personal files

I've checked the control panel & this programme is still installed

What is the answer - will I have to uninstall & reinstall again!!

Have you tried running a Repair install from Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs" applet?
