[Solved] Windows 8 update failure on Surface Pro

Windows 8 update failure on Surface Pro

Recently received Windows 8 update notice for a number of updates (12+) for my Surface Pro.
Allowed updates to download.
After waiting almost two hours with the screen indicating "don't turn off computer while updates are occurring", I finally shut down
the computer and re-started.
After re-starting, I lost any control by type cover, touch pad or wedge mouse.
I have attempted troubleshooter several times indicating there were problems and they were fixed.
But still none of the devices have no control.
Can
you offer any solution.
