ACTIVE X - I can not install / use it. constantly going round in circles

Hello,  I am trying to use active x form a site a trust.
However having scheck all the settings and been on the help lione to the organisation, no one can seem to help fix the problem.  When the activex box appears and tou clock on it - it then
says are you sure (or something like that) and then it fails and starts again.  I have been trying for days now.  I have a new laptop, whcih the following version

Version: 8.0.7600.16385
Cipher Strength: 256-bit
Update Versions: 0

and Windows 7 - if anyone can help - please!!  Im not the most PC lierate of users but i have done ther basics
