Driver install on USB device failed due to disconnect, windows won't recognized device once plugged back in. How do I get this device recognized?
I'm trying to get Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to recognize my M-Audio Axiom 49 keyboard/midi controller, which works fine on my other Windows 7 machine.
The keyboard's USB port was loose, so when I first plugged it in windows tried and failed to install the drivers from the device multiple times as the device constantly connected and disconnected (due to the loose port).
That two-tone 'you just plugged in/disconnected
a device' noise was going off every two seconds.
I unplug the device, fix the loose port, and plug it back in.
The keyboard lights up, so its drawing power, but no 'you just connected noise,' no attempt to install drivers, no recognition of the device whatsoever.
Is there a way for me to force Windows to recognize this device? I tried installing drivers downloaded from M-Audio's website to no avail.
I also tried using different USB ports on my computer, which failed.
Any help is appreciated!
