Cannot open a Vista-created backup file in Windows 7.

I created a backup in 2010 on a computer running Windows Vista.
I tried to open it recently using my new computer, a Pavillion dv6 running Windows 7.
I tried running it as administrator, and running it under a compatibility check.
Help, please?
