[Solved] Atikmpag.sys and Atikmdag.sys Blue Screen

Atikmpag.sys and Atikmdag.sys Blue Screen

So here are my system specs that would be important in regards to this issue :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series - Driver Version 8.961.0.0
Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Build 7601
AMD Anthlon II X3 425 Processor
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Basically, when I am playing games such as League of Legends, it has become more often that usually at some point in the game, my screen will get a diagonal pattern of 0.5cm^2 squares, predominantly red but have discoloration (RGB).
At this point, I can still
hear sound comming from the game (via headset).
Then, the screen will go black, where i can still hear sounds for a few seconds, then I hear nothing.
Then, the screen turns back on.
It gives me a page with a blue background, and along with other info, an error
that says either ATIKMDAG.SYS (this is what used to happen), or ATIKMPAG.SYS (This is what it shows now).
Along with this however, there are 3 vertical bands stretching from the top to bottom of my computer, of discoloration, (RGB) in a pixelated matter, about 3 inches in width, equal distance apart.
As i leave the screen, within 20 seconds the screen begins
to pixelate and discolor all over, to a point where i can no long read the error message.
This screen stays on until I shut down the computer.
When I restart the computer, the blue HP screen that gives me the option to view boot menu, system recovery, and
2 other options by pressing the F keys.
On this screen however, there are 3 bands of discoloration.
Next, it moves to a screen that scares me.
It is black, with flashing white boxes ALL OVER the screen, with all different colors, and the wierdest characters
i have ever seen, somewhat like the matrix that everyone knows of, except instead of being green scrolling on black, there is no scrolling just blinking, flashing, and all sorts of colors.
So after this point, it will move on to the screen that lets me choose between Safe mode, " " with networking, " " with cmd prompt, and Start Up Normally.
On this screen again there are 3 bands of discoloration.
If i press safemode, the bars persist throughout
the whole startup process, and the screen is pixelated beyond belief.
If i start up normally the bars persist to the windows logo screen.
At this point, it stays stuck on this screen for a while, before it moves on to the blue screen I mentioned before, which
does not go away.
So the only way to turn my computer on, seems with waiting, countless tries of unplugging, turning off the power, and starting + restarting.
It starts maybe 1/30 tries.

----
Now, to fix this i have done a couple of things.
I have gone on the AMD website, and updated my drivers.
I have cleaned the outer ducts of my computer of dust.
I have tried unplugging, then plugging back in the monitor.
----
Now I need to know how to solve this issue.
I have no prior knowledge of taking apart my computer (which is an HP Desktop, with an LG monitor), so I would prefer methods that would not involve buying a new motherboard/video card.

----
Please help, as this is very urgent.

Manually editing the Windows registry

Caution: Unless you an advanced PC user, please do not edit the Windows registry manually.

Because of this risk, we highly recommend using a trusted registry cleaner such as SmartPCFixer Using a registry cleaner automates the process of finding invalid registry entries, missing file references (like the one causing your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION error), and broken links within the registry. A backup is automatically created before each scan, with the ability to undo any changes in a single click, protecting you against the possibility of PC damage. The best part is that repairing registry errors can also dramatically improve system speed and performance.

  • Click the Start button.
  • Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
  • While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
  • You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
  • Click Yes.
  • A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
  • Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
  • In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
  • From the File menu, choose Export.
  • In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
  • In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
  • In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
  • Click Save.
  • The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
  • You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.

The next steps in manually editing your registry will not be discussed in this article due to the high risk of damaging your system. If you would like to learn more about manual registry editing, please see the links below.
