Annotating a column chart with a star or two stars automatically.

Hello All
i have a rather specific request here.
i am trying to display a column chart with either one, two or no stars above each column to depict a level of significant difference.
basically if the value for that column (in a seperate table but on the same work sheet) is less than 0.05 then the column gets one star, less than 0.01 then it gets two and greater than 0.05 it gets no stars.
at the moment i am haing to manually put the stars in using text boxes however is there a way i can get this done automatically?
here is a print screen with two lots of starts put on the graph manually.
to sum up i would like excell to put the stars there automatically.

Define a range with appropriate number of stars as a source for labels for the selected series, and finally turn the text direction upwards by means of the selections Label format, Alignment, Orientation.
 
The appropriate star number in a cell will be stated by a formula, for example
 
=if(C1<0.05,rept("*",3),if(C1>0.1,rept("*",1),rept("*",2)))
 
(or simple "***" instead of  rept("*",3)   etc.)
