Brand new computer has critical structure corruption error and also restarts when going into sleep mode

I just built a computer and installed Windows 8.1.
Before I even installed anything, I began encountering a "critical structure corruption" error, which would reboot the machine.
I thought it might have just been a one-time bug, but it happens so often now,
even when I am not doing anything on the computer. 
In addition, I have had my browser open and Diablo 3 running when the machine goes to sleep.
When I come back to the computer, I have to do the initial log in again, which I noticed took as long as a normal, first-time log in, and all my programs are closed.
I bring the browser back up, and it asks if I want to restore the previous session.
So it seems to reboot when in sleep mode?
Any help/suggestions on how to debug this?
